All NCAA Women’s Tourney Games To Be Played In San Antonio

The NCAA took a massive blowback in March when both the men’s and women’s ‘March Madness’ tournaments had to be canceled entirely due to Covid-19. This year, in an effort to get the games in, something a little different is going to be done. At least as far as the women’s tournament is concerned. News emerged on Monday morning that the NCAA would be playing the entire thing out in one ‘geographic area’ surrounding the city of San Antonio.

This comes largely due to the fact that San Antonio was already due to host the Final Four. And obviously, it’s got a lot to do with limiting the risk of teams not being able to participate due to the threat of the virus. At present, the governing body plans to have the tourney play out over late March and early April, as usual, but there is also a chance that they could shorten the time frame. The men’s tourney, as far as we know, has not been decided on as of yet, but it would be no real surprise if they went in this route with it as well.
