It’s safe to say that there is plenty of bad blood between the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics. That made their ALDS series, which started on Monday, all the more important for both clubs. Things began well for the higher-seeded A’s, as they took a 3-0 lead after three innings via a pair of homers from Khris Davis and Sean Murphy .
However, homers from Alex Bregman and Carlos Correa (one of his two on the day) tied it up. From there, the game did seesaw a bit until the Astros got control of it in the sixth to take a 6-5 lead. Correa’s second homer put them up by two in the seventh and he would single in the ninth to give them insurance as they ended up easing to a 10-5 win in the end to begin their series with their hated foes.
