Bayern Munich have been a favorite to make it to the UEFA Champions League Final for months now, and they did just that on Wednesday night as they brushed aside French side Lyon to book a Hollywood-esque finale against PSG on Sunday. The Germans weren’t at their best early on, much like with their semi-final outing against Barcelona, but they were not breached.
They did the breaching via Serge Gnabry, who scored his ninth goal of the UCL campaign, in the 18th minute. That was just moments after Lyon had a chance to take the lead. Gnabry doubled his money 15 minutes later with a scrappy goal, and Bayern largely cruised during the second half without destroying Lyon. The icing was added to the top of the cake in the 88th minute when Robert Lewandowski scored to make it 3-0. It was his 15th goal of the campaign and meant he’s scored in nine straight UCL games.
