Shane Bieber is pitching as well right now- through two games- as just about anyone in the history of the game of baseball. At least he is in terms of striking people out. Thursday night saw him and the Cleveland Indians take on the Minnesota Twins in his second start.

Star Tribune

Having struck out 14 in the opener, he would record 13 more against the Twins as he led his charges to a 2-0 win to improve their record to 5-2 thus far this season. That makes him the record-holder for most strikeouts over the span of two games to start a season, seeing him surpass a feat set in 1954 by Karl Spooner. The two runs the Indians scored came courtesy of Francisco Lindor’s two-run homer in the top of the third. Bieber went eight innings on the mound and didn’t even walk a single batter, either, in another dominant performance.
