It’s that time of year where we get to see some NFL games on Saturdays. This Saturday we had two of them taking place. In the first of the two, the Buffalo Bills made some history. For the first time in 25 years, they laid claim to the AFC East crown, overcoming the Denver Broncos 48-19 to lock that up. They’d been chasing that elusive title for so long largely due to the dominant dynasty of the New England Patriots, but now they have an opportunity to create one of their own.
Josh Allen was tremendous here, accounting for four touchdowns (two on the ground, two in the air) and 359 yards in an all-around brilliant display. Elsewhere, the Green Bay Packers took themselves a step closer to ensuring the top seed- and the only bye- in the NFC with a 24-16 win over the Carolina Panthers. It wasn’t an easy win for them, but Aaron Rodgers helped them navigate tricky waters by picking up two touchdowns while running back Aaron Jones was great as he rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries and a TD of his own. That puts them at 11-3 now, so two more wins will have them officially above the New Orleans Saints for good in the conference.
