Billy Bush Lands New TV Gig After ‘Today’ Firing Scandal
Billy Bush has landed a new TV hosting gig nearly three years after he was axed from the Today show following his lewd audio tape scandal, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The former Today host will be the anchor of a new show called Extra Extra, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Extra Extra will be a “syndicated entertainment show” that is set to debut in fall 2019 when Extra moves to the FOX network, the outlet said.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Bush, 47 was axed from NBC’s Today following the release of an audio recording, in which he was overheard making lewd remarks about women with Donald Trump.
Bouncing back from his hiring has not been easy for Bush. Radar reported that the shamed television host was “desperate” to be back in the spotlight after the scandal.
But Bush quickly realized that making a comeback would not be seamless. He formerly hoped to make a comeback on Dancing With The Stars – but wasn’t cast.
Last year, Bush’s wife Sydney Davis filed for divorce. She cited “irreconcilable differences” between the couple. They initially tied the knot in 1998.
Time will tell if the TV personality’s comeback is welcomed by fans.
