Last night, the NBA world was throw a curveball that no one anticipated. Blake Griffin was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a first found pick and second round pick.

Griffin, who has been the face of the Clippers ever since he was drafted by them in 2009 with the first overall pick, will suit up for a different team for the first time in his entire career.

Griffin is averaging 22.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in his 33 games with the Clippers who have been plagued by injured all season and currently sit at ninth in the western conference.

In regards to who won this trade, the Pistons got the best player. However, the Clippers got a wealth of young players which is what they need to start rebuilding.

By no means is this Clippers team a bad team, they simply aren’t what they were in the past six years when they made the playoffs every season.

With the departure of Chris Paul in a trade to the Houston Rockets, this really compromised any shot the Clippers had to take down the Golden State Warriors in the west. Moreover, DeAndre Jordan is one of the hottest targets for the Cleveland Cavaliers and rumors have been surrounding him in trade talks ever since the season ended last year.

If we learned anything from this trade, it’s that the Clippers are officially in rebuild more and that Jordan will most likely be moved before the trade deadline is over.
