Both versions of Apple’s new 35W chargers capable of recharging two devices at once are now available.
Alongside the M2 chip reveal last week at WWDC, Apple unveiled a new power adapter that includes two USB-C ports. It’s available in two forms: the standard 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter(Opens in a new window), and a 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter(Opens in a new window), both of which cost $59 and don’t include a cable.
In case you hadn’t guessed, the only difference between the two adapters is their size. The Compact version is a more traditional square-shaped adapter with power prongs that fold back into the plastic housing. The standard version looks more like the adapters Apple has shipped in the past with MacBooks.
Whichever one you choose, expect compatibility with a wide range of Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watch, and AirPods. Mac compatibility includes the brand new MacBook Air M2, which won’t ship until July. However, if you’re planning to buy the $1,499 model(Opens in a new window) of the new Air, it ships with the 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter in the box.

With iPhones no longer including a charger in the box, and the EU deciding to make USB-C ports mandatory for most devices from 2024, the dual port adapter could be a good investment. Not only for any existing Apple gadgets you own, but for the iPhone 14, which could be the first iPhone with a USB-C port, although the safer bet is iPhone 15.
