Braun Comes Up Clutch
Ryan Braun might just have had the greatest night of his career. The Milwaukee Brewers found themselves 4-3 winners in the longest game in Miller Park’s history on Saturday night thanks to the slugger. To say his showing was great would be an insult to just how good it was.
He had six hits, going 6-8, and the last of which proved to be pivotal. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 18th and down a run with one out, he lashed a single into right field to drive in two runs and win the game for one of last year’s NLCS participants. His six hits represented over half of the team’s 11, further underlining just how incredible his night was. Zach Wheeler had pitched seven innings of six hit baseball with ten strikeouts for the Mets, but it all counted for naught in the end.
