Buccaneers’ Mike Evans Suspended One Game For Taking Cheapshot At Saints’ Marshawn Lattimore
Sundays game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints got physical, and not within the rules and whistles on the field.
In the third quarter of a 30-3 blowout game with the Saints leading, a small scrum between Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and Marshawn Lattimore started near the Buccaneers sideline. It was followed by a sprinting Mike Evans who ran full speed into Lattimore, decking him to the ground in what was an extremely dirty play.

As a result, Evans is suspended for this weeks upcoming game against the New York Jets.
Somehow, evans was not ejected from the game when he obviously should have been.
When asked about the hit after the game, Evans said “I let my emotions get the best of me,” per the Tampa Bay Times. “I thought (Lattimore) was picking a fight with my quarterback. It’s something I shouldn’t have done. It was very childish. I shouldn’t have done that. Unprofessional.”
For what has been a very disappointing year for the 2-6 Buccaneers, this only throws salt in the wound.
“That is definitely not the way we want to represent ourselves, if it was, in fact, the way that I was told,” Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter said.
