Austin Cindric had won races before in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He just hadn’t won one on an oval. On Thursday night, he finally checked off that box as he drove to victory lane at Kentucky Speedway in overtime.
Cindric had a fast machine all night, but he was unable to get his Ford into clean air. When he did, he proved he had the fastest car and would not be caught, controlling the last 40 laps or so. Noah Gragson had dominated the opening two stages before poor restart lanes cost him. Riley Herbst, Ross Chastain, Chase Briscoe, and Anthony Alfredo completed an eccentric-looking top five.
