The NBA Playoffs are set, well they nearly are, at least. Wednesday night saw to it that was everything was confirmed except for the eight-seed in the Western Conference. That will be determined on Thursday night and via the weekend’s play-in system. But Wednesday was about the #2 seed as the Los Angeles Clippers took on the Denver Nuggets.
They grabbed a 124-111 win to confirm their place as the second-best, though Kawhi Leonard played down the meaning of the seeds due to the location they find themselves in. Paul George had 27 in the game, while the aforementioned Leonard added 26 to the mix. The Nuggets will be the #3 seed. The Clippers are slated to open the first round against the Dallas Mavericks, while the Nuggets will take on the Utah Jazz. As for the eight seed, that comes down to Thursday, with four teams in with a chance. Portland, Memphis, Phoenix, and San Antonio all have a shot, and it will be intriguing to see which teams end up playing on Saturday in the first NBA play-in in decades.
