The Los Angeles Lakers are just two wins away from the NBA Finals following Anthony Davis’ heroics on Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of their Western Conference Finals series. The Lakers were down by one with less than a second to go on the clock and were forced to in-bound the ball and get a shot away. Luckily, for them, at least, Davis was wide open and knocked down his three-pointer to hand them a 105-103 win that saw them take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
That was just three of a game-high 31 that Davis scored, which was one more point than opposite number Nikola Jokic would manage on the evening. Davis, though, was instrumental and pivotal down the stretch apart from just the three he made at the buzzer to win it. He also scored the Lakers’ last ten points as well as 22 in the second half as well. Jokic had a similar run of scoring with 11 in a row at one stage, but it ultimately was not enough. LeBron James finished with a double-double for the Lakers, scoring 26 and grabbing 11 rebounds.
