Dodgers, Braves Clinch Divisions

Coming into Tuesday night, we all knew that the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves were going to be in the MLB Playoffs. Yet, it was still nice to have a bit of confirmation that they would be entering as division winners. The Dodgers are champions of the NL West again and they claimed the top seed in the league via a 7-2 win over AL West-winners Oakland.

Talking Chop

This is the eighth time in a row they have captured the division’s crown, and it came courtesy of home runs from Corey Seagar, Max Muncy, Chris Taylor, and AJ Pollock. The same was the pattern for the Braves as well as they clinched the NL East for the third straight year in an 11-1 of the Miami Marlins. Bryse Wilson pitched very well in five scoreless innings, and their bats were very much on. Marcell Ozuna hit two homers, had four hits, and drive in five of those runs to extend his RBI’s lead over everyone else. Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, and Dansby Swanson also homered to continue their supremacy over the division.
