An urban explorer has described the creepy sensation he experienced while walking the halls of a ‘time capsule’ nursing home, and it’s easy to see why he was spooked
An urban explorer has shared footage from his adventures inside a creepy ‘time capsule’ nursing home, where he claims to have heard ghostly slippers sliding along the empty corridors.
Sonny, from the US, visited the site last year with his girlfriend, and has described their five-hour excursion as being like “something out of a horror movie”.
The 25-year-old has chosen to keep the exact location of the abandoned property secret to avoid potential vandalism, however, it’s understood that it was left to ruin some 20 years ago.
Despite the decay of the years, the beds are still made up, just as though patients might return to them, while medical supplies, wheelchairs, and alarm clocks were found scattered throughout the long-disused rooms.

What do you think about the abandoned nursing home? Let us know in the comments…
It’s believed the facility was first opened in the 1970s, and that it later closed due to bankruptcy in the 2000s.
The 1970s-era baths and wall tiles are now caked with grime and mould, while pots and pans in the canteen-style kitchen are now covered in limescale. Dated floral seats still fill the waiting room, where the windows have long since rotted.
However, in some ways, it’s as though no time has passed at all, with duvets and pillows positioned as though residents had recently risen from their beds.
Sonny, who goes by the TikTok username @xplorewithsonny, said: “When I visit these places they feel warm and welcoming but also have a darkness to them.
“It’s a feeling I don’t get exploring anywhere else, to be honest. Some hallways were riddled with black mould and water damage while others looked untouched for years.
“There were a few times I ventured off alone down what seemed like neverending hallways. I remember hearing the distinct noise of slippers gliding across the floor. I stopped to listen and heard silence. It was like something out of a horror film. It still sticks with me to this day.”

He continued: “The building didn’t appear very large from the outside but inside was a maze of hallways and rooms around every corner.
“There must have been over 50 patient rooms, not to mention recreational rooms and other things like that. This place definitely had some energy left behind.
“You have to imagine how many people have come through this place. It saw life and death and all sorts of emotions.”
