Alvin Kamara, Michael Pittman Jr., and Julio Jones all made it through the season’s opening week in one piece…or so we thought. Now, all three are on their team’s injury report and looking at potential “questionable” tags ahead of Week 2. That’s undoubtedly causing concern among fantasy football who planned on these guys being their lineups. Knowing the latest injury updates will be key ahead of locking in your start ’em sit ’em decisions, as sleepers like Mark Ingram and Breshad Perriman could emerge from the waiver wire if any of these players are out.
Below, we’ll give you the latest news and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 2 fantasy landscape. WEEK 2 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em
Alvin Kamara injury update, Week 2 fantasy outlook
Kamara (ribs) was present at Thursday’s open portion of practice but did not participate after being limited at Wednesday’s practice, according to beat writer Mike Triplett.
This is not good news to hear about Kamara, who is being downgraded only a few days before Sunday’s game against Tampa. However, New Orleans could just be taking precautions with the star running back’s tender ribs. If Kamara is active, he remains a must-start despite a tough matchup, but if he’s out, the Saints will turn to veteran running back Mark Ingram II, who’s been limited himself due to an ankle issue. He’s a volume-based flex if he’s the starter, but his ceiling figures to be limited. If both Kamara and Ingram are out, Dwayne Washington and Tony Jones Jr. would likely split touches.

Michael Pittman Jr. injury update, Week 2 fantasy outlook
Pittman Jr. (quad) did not participate in practice on Thursday after being a limited participant on Wednesday.
Pittman Jr. being downgraded only days away from Sunday’s game against the Jaguars is not good for a Colts’ offense that is already devoid of talent at wide receiver. It will be interesting to see if the young wide receiver practices on Friday and what his status will be for the final injury report. If the Colts are without the third-year receiver, look out for Alec Pierce (if he clears concussion protocol), Ashton Dulin, and Parris Campbell to be Matt Ryan’s top targets. Campbell is the only one worth considering as a boom-or-bust flex despite the favorable matchup.

Julio Jones injury update, Week 2 fantasy outlook
Jones (knee) was among the multiple players who did not practice Thursday as the Buccaneers get prepared to face the Saints. This is the second-straight practice the veteran wide receiver has missed this week.
WEEK 2 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo
We already know that the Buccaneers will be without Chris Godwin (hamstring) for Sunday, but it looks like Jones could be next to join him on that list. The veteran wide receiver had a solid performance in his Bucs’ debut with three receptions (five targets) for 69 yards. If Jones does not play, we could see Russell Gage receive some snaps after he missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Gage returned to practice on Thursday and could have some upside as a WR3. Breshad Perriman would also be in play as a flex, especially if Gage has a setback.
