Much has been said of veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick remaining the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins this season. He’s made fun of a lot, but he has made a name for himself as a cult hero of sorts nonetheless. He made that legend even bigger on Thursday Night Football as he dismantled- again- the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 31-13 victory.
On this evening, he became the first player since 1950 to grab a win over a team while playing for six others. And he was nearly impervious here, completing 18 of his 20 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. It’s not a massive quantity, no, but it was extreme quality from ‘Fitzmagic.’ He also ran for a touchdown as he helped move the Dolphins to 1-2 on the season, far ahead of the pace they had set for themselves last season in a dismal campaign. James Robinson was the start performer for the Jags, racking up over 120 yards all-purpose with 11 carries and six receptions in the defeat. The Jaguars are now 1-2 also.
