As of yesterday, both New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese were fired.

This was a long awaited move for many Giants fans as they did not make the playoffs for the fifth time in six years, the latter two years with McAdoo at the helm.

Former Giants starting quarterback Eli Manning was also benched last week for the first time in 210 games, which comes only a week after the firing of McAdoo.

This will lead to many new changes coming into the Giants organization.

The importance of these two hiring cannot be overstated. Co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch can’t mess this one up, plain and simple.

Despite having a very young, but extremely talented defense and receiving core this year, McAdoo was unable to lead them to any success as they are now sitting in last place in the NFC East with a 2-10 record.

Whoever walks into this head coaching position will have a pretty good team in front of them. The main reason the Giants struggled so much this year was due to their injuries, most notably Odell Beckham Jr. who has been out for weeks.

The weak point behind this Giants team has been the offensive line and running back position. With the upcoming draft being stacked with players in those positions, itis extremely important that the Giants capitalize on these opportunities.

For now, however, they are still looking to fill their vacancies in the front office.
