Harden Thrills In OT Win
It has been months since we have seen the wizardry of James Harden on a basketball court, and despite that fact, he still came out on Friday night upon his return to action in the ‘bubble’ in Orlando with a typically superb scoring performance. He would score 49 points as he led his Houston Rockets to a 153-149 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Harden shot 14 of 20 from the field, while also making 18 of his 21 free throws, a clear signal that he was ready for games to resume. Kristaps Porzingis was instrumental on the evening for the Mavs, putting up 39 points of his own while also grabbing 16 rebounds in the defeat. Of course, it must be said, their own Luka Doncic had another triple-double, posting 28 points to go with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He could have won them the game at the buzzer, but his shot had missed. The only reason they were tied was due to a bit of fortune, as Harden had missed a free throw (not intentionally) only for Robert Covington to tip it in with three seconds to go. That got the game to OT, and the rest as they say, was history.
