Hawks Land Bogdanovic, Heat Keep Bam

The Atlanta Hawks have been far from shy so far in this off season period. The very young team has made a few moves, and on Tuesday they made another by landing Bogdan Bogdanovic. The former Sacramento guard, a free agent, decided to take what is reported to be a four-year deal worth around $72 million from the Hawks in lieu of an offer from the Kings. The Kings ultimately didn’t want to lock up too much money in their core group, so they needed to allow Bogdanovic to move on to have ‘flexibility’ with acquisitions down the road.

He joins the likes of Danilo Galinari and Rajon Rondo to have signed for them thus far. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat made a massive move that could set them up for years. Bam Adebayo, a force that has emerged of late, will be staying with the team, according to his agent. It’s said that he’s agreed a five-year max extension to stay there, and it will be the most expensive signing in Heat history, far surpassing Jimmy Butler’s deal. He averaged a double-double last season and was an All-Star for the first time in a breakout season. With Adebayo locked up, the long-rumored deal to bring Giannis to Miami still looks like it could… eventually happen… one day, of course.
