Heat Take Game 6, Advance To Finals

The Miami Heat won each of the first two games in their Eastern Conference Finals series with the Boston Celtics and also won Game 4 to restore their lead only to lose Game 5. So, Game 6 on Sunday night was a big one for them as a win would ensure they would avoid a gut-checking, decisive Game 7. They did just that as they pulled away late to record a 125-113 win and advance to the NBA Finals to face the Los Angeles Lakers. And it came in large part due to the play of Bam Adebayo, who had struggled in Game 5.

His monstrous night included 32 points, a career-high, as well as 14 rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes of action. Not too bad, especially for the man that began the series with that block in Game 1 to hand it to the Heat. Jimmy Butler, the team’s unquestioned leader than joined a year ago now, scored 22 of his own. It will be their first Finals appearance since 2014. Of course that was when LeBron James, who they will face off with starting on Wednesday night, was a part of the team. The story writes itself, doesn’t it?
