“Heidi delivered a baby boy at 11:31 a.m.,” the couple’s rep tells Life & Style, adding, “It was an easy birth that took around 45 minutes. Mom and baby are happy and healthy.” The new parents have not yet revealed a name for their son.
Heidi had gone to the hospital the day prior after experiencing contractions, even sharing an Instagram Story video of a nurse telling her the baby was going to come “at any minute.” But in a later video, the MTV alum shared that while her contractions went from six minutes apart to four minutes apart, “they started slowing down” and she wasn’t any more dilated. Heidi was given the option to go home until her water broke, which she did.
Heidi, 36, first revealed she and Spencer, 39, were expecting another baby in June, sharing details about her second pregnancy in an exclusive cover story with Us Weekly. The reality stars are also parents to son Gunner, born in October 2017.
“I couldn’t be more excited. I don’t know who I’m the most excited for — myself or Gunner or Spencer,” the MTV star told the outlet at the time. “I just felt like something was missing. I felt like a person was missing in our family that I had this intense love for. And I kept praying about it. I’m like, if I’m not meant to have another kid — because I had accepted that at this point — I just wanted to not have that desire so strongly and I just wasn’t sure if it was going to happen or not. I just get so emotional about it.”
Heidi has been open about her fertility struggles in the past, keeping fans and followers updated while she and the Pratt Daddy Crystals founder tried for another baby for more than 18 months.
“So thankful for my angel,” she captioned a carousel of photos of herself and Gunner on Instagram in January. “I never thought it would be so hard trying to have another. I am trusting God’s plan and if we only have one I am so thankful for this miracle!”
After announcing they were expecting, the How to Be Famous author documented her second pregnancy on social media, sharing a steady stream of baby bump photos and updates leading up to their second child’s birth.
“Feeling incredibly emotional! So so excited to hold this baby boy! So thankful for this journey and this moment. And already missing being pregnant LOL,” she captioned a 30-week bump pic in September. “This is most likely my last pregnancy and baby. We will see what God has in store.”
While speaking to Us Weekly, Spencer revealed what he’s most looking forward to being a dad the second time around.
“I love being a dad and I love all the different ages. So I’m excited to really appreciate how little a baby is,” Spencer explained, noting that he can’t wait to savor all the moments with their newborn. “Because now, I look back at photos and now our son is huge, and you can’t just hold him. So I’m most excited about having just a little [baby] and to really realize how fast it goes. People always told me it goes by so fast, and it does not feel that way. … It doesn’t feel fast, but now looking back it went by so fast.”
