‘I Regret My Actions’: Conor McGregor In Plea Negotiations After UFC Rival Attack
According to ESPN, the mixed martial artist had a hearing at Kings County Family Courthouse in Brooklyn, NY this Thursday. The case, however, was not fully resolved.
Ironically, McGregor’s hearing occurred just one mile from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where the pro fighter attacked his opponents’ bus by throwing a dolly at the window in a fit of rage. Several athletes were injured and unable to participate at the UFC tournament following the outbreak.
McGregor, 29, is facing 12 total charges for his attack. Included are three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief.
“This was a real bad career move by him,” said UFC President Dana White in a statement following the scandal.
“I regret my actions that led to today,” McGregor told reporters after his hearing this Thursday morning. “I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful this will get worked out.”
It is unknown if Conor McGregor will face jail time for his violent offense.
