Newly crowned undisputed super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo has scoffed at a question asking whether he’d fight Australian contender Tim Tszyu.
The Aussie was in attendance in Carson, California as Charlo stopped Brian Castano in the 10th round of their rematch to take the Argentine’s WBO belt and become the division’s first undisputed champion in the four-belt era.
Before the fight, Tszyu appeared on the Showtime broadcast and was asked his thoughts on the fight and who he’d like to win.
“I’m hoping Charlo wins, just because I’d love to fight him and smack him out”

“These little punks, they think they can take me on and it will be an easy fight,” Tszyu said.
“I’m telling you, I’m like a zombie, I’m going to keep walking forward and I’m gonna smack them out.
“I’m hoping Charlo wins because I’d love to fight him and smack him out.”
In the ring immediately after his victory, Charlo said he was unsure what his next move would be, even floating the possibility of moving up to middleweight.
When asked in the post-fight press conference what his thoughts of facing Tszyu were, the Texan and his team weren’t particularly complimentary.
“I saw him in his last fight. He should be quiet,” Charlo’s coach Derrick James said.
“I don’t really watch a lot of boxing but I did see him and he didn’t look so great. There’s nothing to answer.
“He didn’t look so great the last time, he should work on his own situation.”
Charlo was similarly dismissive of the Australian’s US debut victory over Terrell Gausha in March in which Tszyu hit the canvas in the opening round.
“Didn’t he got dropped? I knock motherf***ers out,” Charlo said.
“It’s different heat over here in America, baby. It’s different heat in America.
“How much Tim Tszyu- whatever his f***in’ name is. How much they got? How much money they got?”
Charlo then turned his attention to the Aussie journalist asking the questions.
“F*** you and Tim Kazoo, change the mic. Stop asking me questions, dude.”
Great fight and great win for Charlo. Ready when you are @TwinCharlo
