Dustin Johnson was in complete cruise control on Sunday at TPC Boston in the Northern Trust Open. Those words are often said in sports, but this time they couldn’t be any closer to the truth. ‘DJ’ scored a 30 on the opening nine holes in the final round, adding to a sizable five-shot gap he had brought into the final round. He would ‘only’ make two birdies on the back nine, but the damage had long been done.
He ended up pulling away further and finishing at a ridiculous -30, 11 shots above second-place finisher Harris English in the end. With the win, he returns to the top spot in the world of golf and is now ranked #1 in the FedexCup Playoffs as well. It was his second win of the season and his 22nd overall on the PGA Tour.
