The Kentucky Derby had a first on Saturday afternoon as Country House, a 65-1 longshot, ended up with the victory thanks to a disqualification to Maximum Security, the first horse to come across the finishing line.

The DQ was given to the horse after he was deemed to have unfairly blocked what appeared to be a number of others in their quest to the line. Maximum Security had been one of the biggest favorites to win the race at 4-1, meaning that it led to a very mixed reaction from the stands when the decision was finally handed down after much deliberation.
