Kyle Busch, family escape Mall of America unharmed after shots fired

NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch and his family safely exited the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., on Thursday after a person fired multiple shots.

Bloomington police said Thursday evening that two groups got into a skirmish inside the mall. One group left the premises, but an individual in that group fired three rounds before leaving. The shooter was still at large.

Police also said that no one appeared to be injured in the incident.

Busch’s wife, Samantha, posted on her Instagram story that the family was in the mall when the shots were fired. She said that they made it out of the building safely.

A video posted to Twitter showed Busch and his son, Brexton, leaving the area after the shots were fired.

The family was in Minnesota one day after Brexton Busch won a youth racing event in Wisconsin.

Kyle Busch is scheduled to drive the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 car at the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday. He is eighth in the Cup Series standings and has one win on the season.
