Mary and Merrill Osmond’s youngest son’s skin was described as purple and blue in color as he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, Mary appeared “upset and emotional” as she alerted police of Troy’s recent stint in rehab and “long, extensive” list of medical issues.

The distraught mother recalled that Troy “was sick all the time.” The late 33-year-old worked at Subway for a short period of time because after long “he would get sick,” the police reports stated.

The Osmond nephew was convicted of multiple theft and drug possession charges in the state of Utah in recent years. Following the latest drug bust, Marie’s troubled nephew entered treatment at Lionsgate Rehab and Recovery Center in Utah.

In 2015, Troy was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary of a dwelling, five counts of theft and four counts of having a prohibited controlled substance. The Osmond wild child was sentenced to no more than five years in Utah state prison along with a $20,000 fine for two of the four counts of burglary. But both the prison term and nearly the entire fine was suspended.

Troy also pleaded guilty to two of the four counts of possession of a controlled substance. The judge sentenced him to a term of one year in the Sanpete County jail and a nearly $10,000 fine. Troy managed to serve only 58 days behind bars and his fine was suspended.

Marie’s nephew also maneuvered his way out of three of the five counts of theft. Troy pleaded guilty to two counts and was sentenced to Sanpete Utah County jail once again, along with a nearly $4,000 fine.

A judge ultimately ordered Troy to serve 36 months’ probation and participate in a substance abuse program along with providing a DNA sample and related costs.

Donny And Marie Osmond Then And Now

An Osmond family insider revealed to Radar that just days before Troy was due to complete his probation, he was found dead in the family home.

The source added that Marie was “devastated” when she learned of Troy’s death.

“She immediately rushed to her brother Merrill’s side to comfort him and his wife, Mary,” said the source. “Marie knows the pain of losing a child first hand.”

As Radar readers know, Marie’s son Michael Blosil took his own life in 2010 by jumping from his 8th floor apartment.

Cops on the scene reported there were no signs of foul play, according to the police reports. Troy’s cause of death is suspected to be due to “medical or health related complications.”
