Nick Markakis raised a few eyebrows when he decided to opt back into playing the 2020 season amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Thursday night was his first game back for the Atlanta Braves, and it went about as well as he could have planned it against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Having went 0-3 in his first three at-bats, things didn’t appear to be going well. But that changed in the bottom of the ninth with the scores knotted up at three apiece. He would hit a home run to walk it off, causing his teammates to go ballistic. The win takes the Braves to 9-5 on the season, good enough for second in the NL East currently.
