Marshawn Lynch Stands For Mexican National Anthem But Sits For American National Anthem
Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch made a statement Sunday by not standing for the American national anthem, but standing for the Mexican National Anthem.
This happened yesterday when the New England Patriots took on the Raiders in Mexico City.
This is nothing new, however, as Lynch has been sitting for the American national anthem for most of the season. It was just his decision to stand for the Mexican National Anthem that really turned some heads.

President Donald Trump also joined the conversation following Sundays game.
Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.

While he has been sitting for the American national anthem for most of the season, he has not been very vocal about his motivation to do so.
It is very likely that Lynch is sitting in a show of solidarity with other players in the NFL who have done the same thing to support Colin Kaepernick.
Yesterday made it clear that Lynch is protesting what is going on in the United States.
