We live in an time where some of the NBA’s greatest and biggest stars don’t come from the United States. On Thursday night, we got to see that in abundance as two of them faced off against another as the Dallas Mavericks took down the Denver Nuggets by a score of 124-117 in overtime. Luka Doncic just so happened to get the best of his fellow European Nikola Jokic this time around, getting not only the win but nearly completing a triple-double with 38 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds as well. As always, it seems anyway, Jokic had a solid game, scoring 38 of his own to go along with 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Doncic also got a tremendous bit of help from Maxi Kleber, who knocked down a crucial tying three in the closing moments of regulation and also had a big assist in OT. Elsewhere, the Brooklyn Nets showed once again that they are a true contender this year in taking down the Philadelphia 76ers without Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving. It was a strong second quarter that did much of the damage in the 122-109 win, with the Nets outscoring their opponents by 12 in that period. Joe Harris was the top scorer, contributing 28 for them for a season-high. Center Jarrett Allen also clinched a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards while Caris Lavert did the same with 22 points and 11 assists. The loss was the Sixers’ second thus far, dropping them to 7-2. The win, meanwhile, brought the Nets’ record up to 5-4 thus far.
