Mills Throws No-Hitter, Keys Cubs Win

It might be a shortened MLB season, but we haven’t been deprived of no-hitters thus far. Sunday saw the second of the season thrown, as Chicago Cubs’ pitcher Alec Mills shutdown the Milwaukee Brewers in a 12-0 triumph.

He only struck out five and gave up three walks during the game, which was just his 15th in the majors. It took him a total of 114 pitches, a career-high thus far, and it saw him move to 5-3 overall on the season. Victor Caratini and David Bote, the 8-9 hitters on the day, both produced three RBIs apiece to help them build that massive, crushing lead. The Cubs are now 28-20, leading the NL Central, while the Brew Crew are at 20-24 and in trouble of missing the expanded playoffs.
