Murray, Embiid Put Up Eyewatering Numbers
There are plenty of players in the NBA capable of putting up huge numbers on a particular evening. There are very few that can wow you like Jamal Murray and Joel Embiid can, though. On Friday night, the pair each scored 50 points as they led their teams to victories over their opponents. We’ll start with Murray because he pulled off an historic achievement by putting up half-a-hundred. He’s the first player in the history of the league to have done so without attempting a single free throw.
Think about that. He had to make 21 shots from the field to make it happen, and that’s exactly what took place as he only missed four shots from the floor. Nikola Jokic also had a triple-double as they eased their way past the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-103. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid was also dropping 50 as he helped his Philadelphia 76ers defeat the Chicago Bulls 112-105. Embiid’s 50 is a career-high for him and it came as he made 17 of 26 shots from the field as well as draining 15 of 17 free throws. He also had a monstrous game on the boards, collecting 17 rebounds as he personally dominated the Bulls. The win has the Sixers at 20-10 overall and took them to 13-2 on their home court.
