The couple have candidly discussed their struggle to conceive, and revealed Nikki has had 18 operations during their seven-year fertility journey
Alex Reid and fiancee Nikki Manashe have shared the first picture of their miracle baby girl as they celebrated overcoming the odds during their brutal fertility battle.
The couple, who began dating in 2013, announced in November last year that Nikki was four weeks pregnant with twins, after seven years of trying to conceive.
Sadly, tragedy struck when Nikki miscarried one of the twins in December, but against the odds, she and Alex announced the safe arrival of a little girl earlier this week.
“Welcome to the world little Miss Reid,” she wrote alongside a picture of the tot holding her finger.
And on Saturday, the former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed the name of his and Nikki’s firstborn, and shared a series of snaps documenting his daughter’s arrival via planned Caesarean section at Barnet Hospital in north London.
“Introducing to the world – Anastasia Pixie Reid. Born 13th July weighing 6 11,” the ex-cage fighter, who was formerly married to Katie Price, began.
“Mum and baby are doing great. @ivf_mama_nikki has finally been discharged from hospital after 4 days of having around the clock care from the amazing Barnet General.
“I finally feel complete. 7 long years it’s taken us to get here. My miracle rainbow baby is perfect. We finally have a happily ever after as a family. Life is just perfect. Im so proud of my girls,” he sweetly added.
Nikki also took to Instagram to excitedly share the name of her first child, and said the tot was “worth the wait”.
“Welcome to the world Anastasia Pixie Reid. Born 13th July weighing 6 pounds 11,” she began.
“I finally feel complete. 7 years to get you. You were so worth the wait! We are over the moon. Words can’t express this feeling. I finally have my happily ever after and have my very own family.”
Nikki then thanked Harley Street Fertility Clinic for their “support and love”, and promised her followers she would be back with more updates on little Anastasia.
The couple have been honest about the difficulties they’ve faced on their journey to become parents, with Nikki tragically suffering six devastating miscarriages since they began trying to start a family of their own.
After sadly miscarrying one of the twins, Nikki was told by doctors she needed to get to 24 weeks pregnant with the surviving baby to improve her chances.
And when she hit the milestone in April, Nikki took to Instagram to update her followers with the good news.
“OMG everyone we have hit a huge milestone!!! 24 weeks viability! Well done baby girl! You are a fighter! At 24 weeks baby has a chance of survival if they are born.
“Most babies born before this time cannot live because their lungs and other vital organs are not developed enough. The care that can now be given in baby (neonatal) units means more and more babies born early do survive,” she added.
Alex also shares eight-year-old daughter Dolly, with ex Chantelle Houghton.
He was recently released from prison after serving time for trying to scam a car insurance firm out of £61,000.
