Tina Turner Musical Tribute Son Craig Turner

RadarOnline.com has learned the new Tina Turner musical is to be reworked to include a tribute to the singer’s late son, who tragically committed suicide at the beginning of July.

Tina: The Musical does not flinch from portraying the horrors and tragedies Tina has dealt with up to now, and they don’t want it to shy away from the latest sad chapter in her life either,” an insider exclusively told Radar.

Creators of the show, currently on stage in London, are planning to update the program to include a reference to Craig’s suicide and a touching musical memorial.

“They are planning to change the current show to include a segment that addresses Craig’s suicide and possibly a new song in his honor,” noted the insider.

As Radar reported, Tina, 78, was devastated when her eldest child, Craig, 59, was found dead by police at his L.A. apartment after he shot himself to death.

The iconic star heard about the tragedy while she was 5,600 miles away in Paris, where she was attending a Giorgio Armani fashion show.

Tragically, Craig’s passing piled more pain on Tina, who has survived abuse, violence and heartache through the years, and the insider revealed producers will change the show only once its star has had more time to grieve.

“Craig’s death was only days ago, so it would be inappropriate to approach Tina about this now,” explained the insider, “but within the coming weeks she will be asked to give her blessing to a tribute to her son to be included in the show as it’s now an important part of her life.”

The show is slated to run through February at London’s Aldwych Theatre. Tina: The Musical tells the story of how Tina escaped a downtrodden childhood, how she endured 16 years of horrific bullying and violence at the hands of her husband, Ike, and how she subsequently reinvented herself as a stadium-filling rock star in her late 40s.

Tina’s son Craig was deeply affected by the widely reported domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her musician husband, Ike.

Craig was born when his mother was yet to find stardom, a year after she had joined Ike and his Kings Of Rhythm on stage.

His father was Raymond Hill, the band’s saxophonist. Tina’s relationship with Hill did not last and she embarked upon a famously turbulent long-term affair with Ike.

Craig did not follow his parents into the music industry. Instead, he went to work for Rodeo Realty in Beverly Hills.

His biological father Hill died in 1996, and his stepfather Ike passed away in 2007.
