The NFL has seen a lot of big moves take place over the years, and like all leagues, they sometimes will turn them down in the interest of fairness. That is, according to sources, what they have done with the New Orleans Saints as it regards Jadeveon Clowney.
The Saints, who consistently push the limits of what they can do in terms of salary cap, had a plan to have a team sign Clowney and pay the signing bonus and then trade for him via a draft pick and an unnamed player. The league, not willing to let them ‘sell’ a draft pick denied the deal, citing that it has never been allowed before. As a result of that, Clowney has now landed with the Tennessee Titans shortly before the NFL is due to kick off its 2020 season.
