NHL Playoffs Scoring Leaders 2022: Who is leading the postseason in points, goals and assists?

We are halfway through the first round of the 2022 NHL playoffs, with some tight series on hand in addition to one quick sweep courtesy of the Avalanche. 

Now that teams have gotten a few games under their belts, players are starting to put up points and we’re seeing who is at the forefront in the scoring category. 

We’ve seen a few hat tricks already this postseason, with Vladimir Tarasenko most recently potting three goals in a night for the Blues. While it’s still early, following along with you is leading the league in playoff points for 2022 is a good way to figure out who the potential Conn Smythe winner may be.

Who is leading the 2022 NHL playoffs in points? 

Cale Makar is taking over this postseason. After a Norris-worthy regular season, the young Avalanche defenseman ripped off 10 points in four games during Colorado’s first-round sweep of Nashville. 

Tied with Makar is Carter Verhaeghe, the forward for the Panthers. He had five points in Florida’s Game 5 win to double his point total. 

Following Makar and Verhaeghe, it’s some familiar faces behind him as Brad Marchand, Sidney Crosby, and Connor McDavid all have nine points.

Who is leading the 2022 NHL playoffs in goals? 

Minnesota’s Kirill Kaprizov and Pittsburgh’s Jake Guentzel are leading the way in the goals category. 

The Wild winger didn’t score in Game 1, but he’s potted at least one goal in every game since. He had a hat trick in Game 2 and recently had two goals in the Wild’s Game 5 loss. 

Guentzel potted two goals in Game 5 to up his total to seven.

There are four players who are in a tie so far for the playoff leader in assists with Crosby, Makar, McDavid, and Tony DeAngelo all notching seven assists so far in this postseason.
