The NHL postseason has always been extremely wild and unpredictable. This year’s is even more so, with the use of qualifiers and the like. That has caused some even bigger upsets than normal, with underdogs taking advantages of the situation last night. Three of them lead the way 2-1 in five-game series’ at the moment following Wednesday’s action, with the Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Montreal Canadiens are all one game from advancing to the ‘real’ playoffs.
The Coyotes were largely dominated, but they held on to win 4-1 anyway, taking their chances. The Blackhawks scored two late goals to shock their opposition. And the Canadiens came back from a 3-1 hole in the second period to win 4-3. Not too shabby stuff; the NHL just doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the playoffs.
