After four games of their Western Conference semis series with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Denver Nuggets truly looked dead and buried. But after six games, it is all square again after Sunday saw them shock the Clippers to force a decisive Game 7. The 111-98 win came largely as a consequence of an outright dominant fourth quarter in which they outscored the higher-seeded team by 15 to come back from two behind and win.
That had followed a third quarter that saw them outscore the Clippers by 14, showing just how far they had to comeback in order to win. Nikola Jokic led all scorers on the day, scoring 34 points. He completed his double-double with 14 rebounds and also had seven assists. Jamal Murray kept up his fine play in the playoffs, putting up 21. Paul George’s 33 led the way for the favored Clippers, while Kawhi Leonard also added 25. The Clippers, who many assumed would be facing the Lakers in the Western Finals, will now have to work very hard in a seventh game, something the Nuggets have already faced in this edition of the playoffs.
