The first round of the first major of the golf season is finally in the books. Thursday was a wild day at the TPC Harding, with a number of players putting themselves in contention for the win. On top of the leaderboard are a pair of men that sit at -5 in Jason Day and Brendon Todd. Day, of course, has a lot of experience in these spots in majors. Todd, on the other hand has less, but he’s led after more rounds on the PGA Tour this season.
So, it only makes sense that he’s in a spot to challenge at the PGA Championship. At least for now. The man many people will be talking about, however, is just a shot off the pair mentioned. That is Brooks Koepka, the defending back-to-back champion. He was at close to his best in shooting a 66 on the day, putting him well in the chase to take home his third in a row. Six others are on the same score as him, with a further eight on -3. Tiger Woods finished at -2, along with 12 others. Basically, it’s still anyone’s guess about who will win.
