This year’s PGA Championship has certainly not been a let down thus far. After round three on Saturday, we have a single name atop the board: Dustin Johnson. However, that should not be cause for concern, as there are still a bevy of contenders to win the trophy come Sunday’s fourth and final round. Johnson sits on -9 par following an impressive -5 65 on a tough, cool day at the TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
Fellow Americans Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Champ are one shot back each, while two-time defending champion Brooks Koepka leads a group of three that are just two shots back. He had made three bogeys in a row at one stage, yet that didn’t stop him from mounting a comeback and forging his opportunity to have a say come Sunday. Six more men are on -6 and a further five are at -5, so there are a ton of players that still have the chance to make a run at the Wanamaker trophy on Sunday. Can anyone take down DJ, or will it prove to be their downfall to give him the lead this late in the tournament?
