Rams Shut Down Wilson, Seahawks
Well, that was far from the prettiest game of football you will ever see, but the Los Angeles Rams won’t care one bit about that after they came away with a 30-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, the higher-seeded team, in the NFC’s Wild Card round on Saturday afternoon. No quarterback was able to complete more than 11 passes in a very hard-fought game in which defense was the name. Cam Akers, as well as a dominant defensive showing from the Rams, were the difference makers.
Akers had 131 yards rushing and a touchdown on 28 carries while the Rams got a pick-six on a screen from Darious Williams in the second quarter than set the tone. DK Metcalf still managed two touchdown grabs for the Seahawks, but he was only allowed to make five overall catches, showing just how good the Rams were defensively to book their place in the next round at the expense of their NFC West rivals.
