Ravens Advance, Jackson Gets First Playoff ‘W’
Lamar Jackson came into Sunday’s Wild Card game with the Tennessee Titans looking to get a big monkey off his back. The type no one wants to have: no playoff victories. He did just that in leading the Baltimore Ravens out of the first round, seeing off the Titans in a 20-13 win in Nashville.
It was keyed by an emphatic, explosive 48-yard touchdown run, part of a day in which he rushed for 136 yards and also had 179 through the air. It wasn’t the easiest of days to move the ball, with both defenses playing very well, so the fact he was able to put up those numbers is a credit to his ability. The Ravens’ defense was also worthy of a shout out, as they held ‘King’ Derrick Henry to just 40 yards on 18 carries. Anytime you do that, you stand a big chance of winning, and that’s exactly what they managed to do.
