The NBA’s ‘bubble’ in Orlando to close out the 2019-20 season was a big success. Just about everyone agrees that it was handled perfectly, and one of the aspects that made it such a success looks to be sticking around, if reports are to be believed, come the new season. That would be the play-in that was implemented for the #8 seed.
According to reports, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver wants to keep it as part of the league in the long-term, and now that there is some proof of how well it works, he could find a way to push it through without too much objection from the ownership. At this time there is no set plan for how it would work, so there is a possibility it would be slightly different than what we got down at Disney.
