Sara Gilbert’s Marriage Was ‘Strained’ Before She Announced Her Shocking Exit From ‘The Talk’
Sara Gilbert shocked fans by announcing that she was quitting CBS’s The Talk after nine years, and now RadarOnline.com can exclusively learned the host and longtime wife of Linda Perry was left with no other choice — she either had to walk away from the show, or walk away from her family!
“Sara’s marriage was strained because of the nonstop fights with her wife,” a source close to Gilbert, 44, said.
“Linda told Sara that she didn’t have enough time for her family, and she was right!”
As fans know, aside from her duties on The Talk, Gilbert is also co-creator and star of Roseanne spin-off The Conners, which was recently picked up for a second season. In addition, Gilbert also has a recurring role on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory.
“Sara really wants to devote as much time as she can to The Conners, and there is so much drama that comes along with The Talk, she needed to reevaluate her life,” the source told Radar exclusively.
“Doing both shows was wearing her thin and having huge consequences on her marriage because she was never there. She is now putting her wife and kids first and is ready for a new chapter.”
Gilbert’s co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, 66, Sheryl Underwood, 55, Carrie Ann Inaba, 51, and Eve, 40, were upset about her departure, but understood her reasoning when she revealed that her life was “out of balance.”
“I’m just feeling like I don’t know how I am going to do it all. I was looking at the next six months and just thinking, ‘there’s not time,’” Gilbert told the ladies at the start of The Talk on Tuesday, April 9.
“Even the small things in my life. My youngest is 4 years old and I still haven’t made his baby book,” she added.
