Seagar, Dodgers Take Game 5 To Extend NLCS

The NLCS will go on for at least another day following Friday night’s result between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. When the dust had settled, the Dodgers came out on top via a 7-3 score line as they reduced their series deficit to 3-2. Corey Seagar continued to be in hot form, hitting two more home runs in the victory.

One of them gave the Dodgers their first run of the game while the other one broke the game open in the top of the seventh by putting them up 7-2, effectively ending all hopes for Atlanta to come back on the evening. Will Smith also had a home run, a three-run shot that put them up for the first time in the game at 4-2, in the sixth that had helped turn the tide. Mookie Betts was instrumental on both sides of the ball, so to speak, driving in a run with a single and making a big grab in the second inning that stopped an early Braves onslaught that had potential to get out of control. Both teams will now turn the ball back over to their aces on Saturday as the Braves try to close it out and the Dodgers attempt to force a seventh game.
