Shopper declares ‘perfect’ £1.20 black Primark tights are better than posh £16 ones

A thrifty fashionista has declared that a pair of £1.20 black tights from Primark are absolutely ‘perfect’, and says she now favours them over a posh £15.99 pair

TikTok user discovers ‘perfect pair of tights’ from Primark

You can’t beat a good pair of black tights in the winter months, which of course go perfectly with a chunky pair of boots and plenty of cosy knitwear. Best of all, you apparently don’t have to spend a fortune to get a decent quality pair.

According to one savvy fashionista, the ‘perfect pair’ of 30 denier black tights can be found at Primark, and are as affordable as they are stylish. Thrifty shopper Maria Joynson was left impressed by the shade of the tights, which she describes as ‘not too sheer, not too dark’.

Maria was also pleased by the high-quality feel of her bargain purchase, praising them as ‘really, really nice and soft’.

Taking to TikTok, where she goes by the username @mariajoynson, Maria said: “I sort of played around with the denier – did very sheer and then I did some that were like 40 denier and they were very dark.

“Then I found these. Pack of three from Primark, £3.50, 30 denier. They can’t be any darker.”

Given that this is a three-pack, each pair of tights would work out costing around £1.17 each. Maria tried out a variety of tights – including some from M&S – before settling on the Primark pair.

She found one £15.99 pair from upmarket Calzedonia to be pleasingly ‘soft and delicious’, but just couldn’t justify the steep price, particularly as she’s found that ‘no matter where they’re from they’ll rip eventually’.

One person commented: “I can’t believe I’m seeing this after coming home from Primark. I know where I’m going tomorrow.”

Another applauded: “Oh my god you LIFE SAVER! Been looking for this type for so long. I’ve spent a fortune on tights that are too dark.”

A third joked: “Lower your voice!!! They’re hard enough to get hold of in my local Primark already.”
