Sixers Land Rivers As Next Coach

The Philadelphia 76ers have come a long way since their ‘process’ idea came to fruition. But they have not come as far as they would have liked. As such, they are once again turning to a new head coach to try and take this talented generation to the top. That new man will be recently-fired Clippers coach Doc Rivers.

The news came out on Thursday that Rivers would be signing a five-year deal to coach in Philly, according to sources at least, with the goal being to make a run deep in the playoffs. Prior to what Woj called ‘rapid’ negotiations, the team had looked toward former Houston Rockets man Mike D’Antoni. But now they have Rivers, and it will be interesting to see who stays there and how well they will do under his leadership.
