Starting In January Could Cost NBA $1 Billion

The NBA knows it’s going to take a big hit due to the Covid-19 crisis. It already has done so, in fact. But another one is coming, according to sources, if the league is to get restarted in January of this 2021. The league would prefer to get back going before Christmas, but time is running out for that, and it just doesn’t look like many players are particularly interested in doing so anyway, with many reports indicating that they would prefer the later January start.

At any rate, the late start of the season, according to estimations, could cost them anywhere between $500 million and $1 billion. How or why that is the case remains to be seen, as it would only be a couple of weeks difference anyway. While the Christmas day slate of games is no doubt lucrative, would it really provide the league with nearly $1 billion on its own. This might be political maneuvering in large part, so get ready for more of that to take place…
