Steelers Move To 7-0, Tua Wins First Start

After the season the Baltimore Ravens had last year, many assumed that it would be them that would control the fate of the AFC North. Not the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, after Sunday’s result, things have certainly changed, as the Steelers got a statement win over their division foes via a 28-24 win that takes them to 7-0 through eight weeks of action. They did have to hang on and deny Lamar Jackson and co. in the last minute of the game, but they did just that to remain unbeaten and go two games ahead in the division as the Ravens fell to 5-2 with the defeat.

Behind the Steel Curtain

Ben Roethlisberger played poorly in the first half, completing just four passes (out of ten), but somehow they grinded out a win. He would post 182 yards, most of which came in the second half, and two touchdowns to help them overcome a very complete Ravens team. Jackson, meanwhile, also had a checkered game, throwing for two touchdowns and two interceptions while going just 13 of 28. Elsewhere, it was officially Tua time for the Miami Dolphins as they upset the LA Rams at home 28-17. Tagovailoa, making his first start for the Dolphins, was far from spectacular, throwing for less than 100 yards on 22 attempts (he only made 12 completions) and a TD. But it proved to be plenty on the day for them to win as the defense stepped up and forced several turnovers to get them to 4-3 thus far. The Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 28-22 and the Tennessee Titans lost 31-20 to the Cincinnati Bengals in a couple of the other marquee games.
